Psalm 45:10-11, 13-15

Listen to me, O royal daughter; take heart to what I say. Forget your people and your homeland far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. [...] The bride, a princess, waits within her chambers, dressed in a gown woven with gold. In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king, accompanied by her bridesmaids. What a joyful, enthusiastic procession as they enter the king's palace!

Works-for-Me Wednesday Backsward Day

Here's my backwards Works-for-Me...

I've been thinking about this lately. We got a new laptop a few months ago and the problem we've come into is a place to store it. Usually it stays on our ottoman or lately its taken a spot on our kitchen table. We live in a 1-bedroom apartment and don't really have any extra room for furniture. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for storing a laptop where it's also easily accessible?

Ours just floats around our living spaces too. At least it gets used that way. I tuck it away in our bedroom if/when we need to.

Mine mostly lives on my Kitchen room table, because this is where we live, do homeschool, and what not. When it's not on the table (like, so we can eat), there is a spot for it on the baker's rack. There is also an open spot on top of the Entertainment center where I can set the laptop when I'm geeking out in the living room. I try to keep it out of my my bedroom, only because I *know* the temptation of the internets is strong, and I'd be surfing all night instead of sleeping. DH, however, has a shelf on the bookshelf in our room that is set aside specifically for his laptop and other peripherals (phone, palm, etc)

The real key, is to make a home for it where it is used most often, and keep that "home" clear. Make a routine of putting the laptop to bed in it's home every night before you go to bed.

We just fold ours up and keep it between the couch and the end table. We typically use our sitting on the couch, so this works well for us.

I have a three drawer night stand so when I got my laptop I cleaned out one of the drawers and I store it in there when I an not using it.

I actually have a home office so my laptop stays on the desk - but what about in a laptop case and put under the sofa - top shelf of a closet?

I'll be honest- mine sits in the floor next to the outlet I keep it plugged into. That way, it's always charging and I never get caught with a low battery. It drives my husband crazy, but I don't have a desk like he does, and I have to use my kitchen table to prepare meals...so it's the best option.

I'm pretty lucky. A few months ago, we saw the cutest little wooden flip-front desk (is that what you call them?) on the roadside. It was in perfect condition, and someone was throwing it out! It is small, but I'm only 5 foot 2. My husband set it up for me in the corner of the living room. I told him I was going to save up for a laptop and use it on the desk. Can you imagine my happy surprise when Mike and the kids gave me one for Christmas? Anyhoo, maybe you can find a small desk that closes. It could hold your laptop, but also be a place for mail. Closed up, mine takes up barely 2 by 3 feet.

Thanks for all the suggestions! It reminded me that I have a short shelf at my father-in-law's house that I could paint and use to store the laptop...that is once I put the Christmas tree away. ;)
