Psalm 45:10-11, 13-15

Listen to me, O royal daughter; take heart to what I say. Forget your people and your homeland far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. [...] The bride, a princess, waits within her chambers, dressed in a gown woven with gold. In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king, accompanied by her bridesmaids. What a joyful, enthusiastic procession as they enter the king's palace!

Isn't this the cutest idea?

I came across this on the Organized Christmas blog. Isn't it the cutest idea? A little more work than simply buying an advent calendar, but so adorable. At first I thought that the magnet ornaments were decorated sugar cookies, but it looks like this lady just bought mini ornaments. If I ever decide to do this project, I might make the ornaments to reflect more of the Christmas story, but it's cute just the same.

It's officially fall!

I don't know why, but I've really been looking forward to fall this year. Maybe it's the change in the weather that I'm eager to see (and feel), even though we don't have a lot of fall leaves around here. I think part of it is that I enjoy the seasonal decorations, which also is a sign that the holiday season is around the corner with more decorating, baking, and gift making--all things which I enjoy!

One place I love to go in the fall is Julian. Even though it still is southern California it's a different place up there. The colors change, the air is crisp, it's a beautiful winding country road, and the town is just so picturesque. You pass by hills and meadows, cows in pastures, old houses that trees have grown into, apple orchards--it's so nostalgic. I love walking when the air has that touch of cold that you can just almost see your breath. So, I'm excited that it's fall even though it won't look too much like the seasons have changed around here.

Last weekend was a big weekend around here. My mom and sister came into town for the baby shower, which happened to coincide with my 25th birthday. There was the baby shower itself, delightful and very entertaining (more on that later). Hanging out with my mom and sister, which included a trip to the beach, the birth center, and a few fun thrift stores. Baby furniture shopping, shoe shopping (let's just say the soles of my shoes had seen better days and my pregnant feet are now thankful for support), a ministry fair at church, and unloading all the cute little boy clothes into the new furniture. I think that was it. Really.

I'm working on a little movie/picture show for the baby shower. Until then, here are some pictures:

(This was for another project. It was funny though...)
