Psalm 45:10-11, 13-15

Listen to me, O royal daughter; take heart to what I say. Forget your people and your homeland far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. [...] The bride, a princess, waits within her chambers, dressed in a gown woven with gold. In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king, accompanied by her bridesmaids. What a joyful, enthusiastic procession as they enter the king's palace!

Works-for-Me Wednesday: Home Fries

I'm a potato girl through and through. I love them in any form...at least, any form that's tasty. My weakness? French fries.

I've found a quick way to make some yummy home fries using an apple wedger. Just cut the potato in half, then placing the potato with the flat side on the cutting board use the apple wedger the same way you cut an apple.

It makes for quick home fries. I usually put the cut potatoes in a bowl with 2TBSP of olive oil, salt/pepper, and a bit of garlic powder, then put them in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes (depending on how crispy you like them).

Works-for-Me Wednesday

For a Saturday breakfast any day of the week, one thing that works for me is to make it ahead of time. I prefer homemade pancakes, so when I make a batch I'll double the recipe and pour it into a pitcher.

We'll use the rest of the batter during the week. (You might want to enlarge the batch depending on the size of your family. It'll last 3-5 days, any longer and the batter gets yucky.) It makes for a quick, yummy breakfast.

Works-for-Me Wednesday

Because I have a track record of forgetting birthdays and other occasions not only did I get a calendar (and try to use it), but now I start make my own cards ahead of time. Back in November I bought a pack of plain white 25 cards/envelopes from Michaels on sale for $2.50 and then use the scraps from my scrapbooking stack to decorate.

So...back in December I made birthday cards although way through May. It's about time to start making cards for the months after May...time to get to work.

Works-for-Me Wednesday Backsward Day

Here's my thing...I've been married for almost a year now and have not yet had to clean our oven. But after my hubby made some ribs a while back and the juiciness spilled over, now we get a slightly burnt smell when we use our oven. So, I reckon it's time to clean it, but here's my problem...I don't know how!

Are there any products I shoudln't use? Is there a certain way to go about it?

Help, please!

Works-for-Me Wednesday

Cleaning isn't a task I dislike, per say. It's just one that I find I don't always have time for with our current schedule. But being the clean & organized person that I am, I can't stand to have piles lying around the house or crumbs on my counter (the floor's okay, but the counter needs to be clean...weird, I know).

One thing that has helped me with this is setting up a cleaning schedule. There are three weeks on the schedule with one task given to each day. In assigning tasks, I considered my work, ministry, and extra stuff into the schedule. Saturdays have two and are usually the more time-consuming cleaning. I don't always follow the schedule day-to-day. It really helps out is when I've been really busy and realize that things have piled up around the house. You know, that layer of dust on the back of the toilet, etc. I use to get frazzled realizing how much "needs" to get done, but now I just go to my schedule and see what needs to be done for today.

Let's see...sweep kitchen

Works-for-Me Wednesday Backsward Day

Here's my backwards Works-for-Me...

I've been thinking about this lately. We got a new laptop a few months ago and the problem we've come into is a place to store it. Usually it stays on our ottoman or lately its taken a spot on our kitchen table. We live in a 1-bedroom apartment and don't really have any extra room for furniture. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for storing a laptop where it's also easily accessible?
